Retired Police Sergeant Dies

Retired Tyngsborough Police Officer Sergeant Howard “Tiny” Given died during the overnight hours of January 6 at the age of 79 from complications to kidney cancer.

Given was a member of the Tyngsborough Police Department for 30 years until his retirement in August 1995 according to Deputy Police Chief Richard Burrows.

Calling hours will be held at Dolan’s Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex Street, Chelmsford MA on Sunday January 10th from 1PM-5PM.

A Police Officer walk through will be at 3PM.  Funeral will be held at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 115 Middlesex Street, Chelmsford MA on Monday January 11th at 11AM.

Burial will follow immediately after at the Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.

Lacrosse and the Law Nights 2010


The Tyngsboro Police School Resource Officer program is sponsoring “Lacrosse and the Law” nights at the Tyngsboro Sports Center on Progress Ave.  There is no cost to attend!  All skill levels are welcome.

Get ready for the upcoming season!  Open to all boys and girls grades 9 – 12.  Thursday nights beginning January 14 thru March 18th (see schedule below).  First 15 minutes is a skills session, then 45 minute scrimmage.

Please bring equipment and mouthpiece.  Some equipment may be provided to new players.
