On September 9th at 1:56am the Tyngsborough Police Department received a call for a residential burglar alarm on King David Road. Officers responded and found the front door glass panel broken and blood on the screen door. K9 Units were called from area communities. Master Patrolman Charles Melanson directed the officers to check the surrounding area. Off. John Coburn observed a white male walking on Willowdale Road who began to ran when he saw the cruiser. Off. Coburn chased the suspect on foot into the woods off Althea Ave and after a brief struggle placed him in handcuffs. The suspect had a cut on his hand that was bleeding. Matthew Gile 23 yrs old of 18 Sherbrooke Street Tyngsborough was charged with Breaking and Entering in the nighttime, Resisting Arrest, Malicious Destruction of Property over $250, and a default warrant from Lowell District Court for A&B.
Detectives will be investigating to see if he is involved in the recent rash of house breaks in the area.
