Nixle Alert Used for both Advisory and Community Info

Does the CodeRED system replace NIXLE alerts which the Police Department uses?
No, the Police Department will continue to use NIXLE to disseminate information for alerts, advisory information, and community news/events. In addition, the Police Department and other departments will use CodeRED to disseminate emergency information and at times, community information which is wide spread and pertinent to the entire community (e.g. Town Meeting, elections, special elections, road construction and other community events).
