Warrant arrest

On September 9th, 2013 the Tyngsborough Police Department began an investigation into a theft at the Enterprise Bank on Middlesex Road.  The theft occurred as a result of a customer opening an account using checks from closed accounts; she was then able to withdraw $8,500 in cash.

A subsequent investigation by Tyngsborough Police Detectives resulted in identifying the perpetrator as Gergana Micova with a possible address in Manchester, NH.  The Tyngsborough Police Department, working with other local departments were unable to locate her at that time.  Charges were filed and an arrest warrant was issued by Lowell District Court.

On Wednesday October 30th Micova returned to the Enterprise Bank in Tyngsborough at which time she was arrested on the outstanding warrant by the Tyngsborough Police Department.

Gergana Micova, 28 yrs. old of Manchester, NH is being charged with;  Uttering a false Check (2 counts) and Larceny by Check over $250.  She will be arraigned at Lowell District Court this morning to answer these charges.

Ryan Popplewell, 23 yrs. old of Nashua, NH – Charged with Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle

Outdoor activity warnings lifted – Trick or treat restored to traditional time

Outdoor public event Health restriction lifted, Trick or treat hours restored to traditional day and time.

With the hard frost of Friday-Saturday, October 25-26, the threat of mosquito-borne illness has subsided and the outdoor activity restrictions implemented in September have been lifted.

Additionally, Halloween trick or treating will occur on Thursday, October 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Domestic Violence Arrest

Brian Lord, 20 yrs. old of Tyngsborough – Arrested and charged with (2) counts of Assault & Battery (domestic)

October 22 arrests

Tuesday  10/22

At 3:15pm Tyngsborough Police Officers responded to a fight in progress at the Mobil Station on Westford Road, upon arrival officers found one male bleeding from the mouth.   The suspect was located nearby and subsequently arrested.  The 35 yr. old male victim was transported to Lowell General Hospital to be treated for a facial injury.

Joseph Cherico, 47 yrs. old of Rumsfield, RI was charged with;  Assault & Battery with a dangerous weapon (to wit shod foot) and is currently being held at the Tyngsborough lock-up.


At 4:43 pm Tyngsborough Police Officers responded to a domestic disturbance taking place at a residence on Lakeview Avenue.  As a result of the ensuing investigation a 16 year old juvenile was charged with Assault & Battery with a dangerous weapon (domestic).  The juvenile is currently being held at the Tyngsborough Police Department awaiting transfer to a juvenile facility.

Summons Issued

Jacob Rood, 19 yrs. old of Tyngsborough – As a result of an investigation into an allegation of tattooing minors without a license Rood is being charged with;  Municipal by-law violation (to wit Health Regulation violation, Board of Health c.111 and Assault & Battery with a dangerous weapon (to wit needle).  He will receive  summons to appear in Lowell District Court.

Bay State Marathon – expect traffic delays

The Baystate Marathon will occur on Sunday October 20th, the route starts in Lowell at approximately 8:00am traveling through Tyngsborough, most runners should be out of Tyngsborough by 1:30pm.  Traffic will be significantly affected on Middlesex Road from the Chelmsford Line to the Tyngsborough Bridge as well as Pawtucket Boulevard to the Lowell line.  Please make all reasonable efforts to avoid these roadways during this time as you will be delayed, there will be police officers along the route at intersections to assist traffic flow and to enhance the safety of the runners.
