Motor vehicle Accident / Criminal Charges

On Sunday November 10th at 10:50am Tyngsborough Police Officers responded to Pawtucket Boulevard near Chronopoulos Way for a reported motor vehicle accident.  Upon arrival officers found that the single vehicle involved had struck head on with a guard rail, the vehicle was empty and there was blood in the vehicle and a clear indication that the drivers head had struck the windshield.  A witness advised officers that they saw a single male walk away from the scene and reported that this subject appeared to be bleeding from his head.  Officers were not immediately able to locate this subject; a request was made for a tracking k-9 to respond and Billerica Police Department responded with their bloodhound.  At approximately 11:40am this male subject was located by the k-9 hiding in the woods.

The subject was subsequently transported to Lowell General Hospital to be treated for a laceration to his head which appears to be non-life threatening.  It appears that this subject had fled the scene due to an outstanding arrest warrant for him for a past charge of disorderly conduct.

Paul Strong, 33 yrs. old of Nashua, NH will be charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident which caused property damage.

Thank you to Tyngsborough and Billerica Police officers for a job well done.
