Massapoag Road closure / flooded areas

Massapoag Road, in front of #142, will remain closed for at least several days due to flooding and partial collapse of the roadway, a drainage pipe and the roadway will need to be repaired prior to the road being re-opened.    Cement Barriers along with traffic barrels have been installed on both sides of the flooded area for safety purposes.

In addition there are several roadways throughout which have areas of flooding or where the potential exists of imminent flooding ;  Dunstable Road, Red Gate Road, Willowdale Road, Groton Road, Westford Road, Pawtucket Blvd., entrance to the Tyngsborough Elementary School.   Please use caution and drive slowly through these areas, we will continue to monitor these areas and work with the Highway Department to mitigate any hazards.

Boston Fire Department tragedy

The Tyngsborough Police Department offers our sincere condolences to the Boston Fire Department and the families of the fallen firefighters, they are true heroes.

(3) charged in residential break / property recovered

On Friday March 21st a residence was broken into on Indian Lane in Tyngsborough, items stolen included jewelry, a flat screen television and a digital camera. An investigation ensued between Tyngsborough, Hudson and Westford PD, who also had residential breaks. As a result of the investigation, most of the property stolen from the Tyngsborough break has been recovered, the (3) subjects named below are being charged by our department;

Adam Zincavitch, 26 yrs. of Pelham – (2) counts of break & entering of a residence in the daytime for a felony, malicious destruction of property (over $250), larceny from a building.

Joseph Gagnon, 34 yrs. old of Lowell – (2) counts of break & entering of a residence in the daytime for a felony, malicious destruction of property (over $250), larceny from a building.

Nicole Monson, 33 yrs. of Lowell – (2) counts of break & entering of a residence in the daytime for a felony, malicious destruction of property (over $250), larceny from a building.

Vehicle’s broken into / vehicle stolen

Sometime between Friday at midnight and 7am Saturday morning (3/22) ten (10) vehicles were broken into in the Lakeview Ave. area including Linwood Ave, ForrestPark, Magnolia, Cedar Grove, Maplewood & Mascuppic Trail.   Also during the same time frame a 2012 Mitsubishi color black was stolen from Linwood Ave.  Tyngsborough Police Officers have since recovered the stolen vehicle at LakeShore Apartments in Dracut which is just over the Tyngsborough town line.  The Tyngsborough Police Department is looking to identify two male subjects who were observed walking on Lakeview Avenue at approximately 2am on the night in question.  One subject is pushing another who is in a wheelchair; these subjects may be able to provide our department with valuable information regarding these vehicle breaks as well as the stolen motor vehicle.
