Subject charged with Breaking and Entering of two Tyngsborough businesses

On July 14, 2018 at approximately 11:30 pm, Ampet Gas station on Middlesex Road was broken into.  The suspect used a tire iron to gain entry by smashing the front door glass.  A box containing cash and other property was taken.  The following morning at 2:45 am the American Legion on Pawtucket Boulevard was broken into and a cash register was taken, along with a children’s charity jar containing an undisclosed amount of cash.

Surveillance video was obtained and reviewed by Detectives.  Tyngsborough Police Detective Sergeant Shay, with the assistance of Lowell Police Detectives and the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department,  identified the suspect as Robert Dempsey, a warrant has been requested for his arrest.

Robert A. Dempsey, 49 yrs. old who is reported to be homeless, is being charged with the following;

  • Breaking and Entering into a building in the nighttime for a felony (3 counts)
  • Larceny from a Building (3 Counts)
  • Malicious Destruction of Property under $1,200

31 yr. old female of Burlington, MA – Breaking & Entering in the nighttime, Destruction of Property under $1,200

49 yr. old male – Breaking & Entering in the Nighttime to commit a felony (3 counts), Destruction of Property under $1,200, Larceny from a Building

31 yr. old male of Linville, VA – OUI Liquor (3rd offense), Operating a motor vehicle with a revoked drivers license, Possessing open container of alcohol in motor vehicle

52 yr. old male of Tyngsborough – Assault & Battery on a Household/Family member

33 yr. old female of Billerica – Possessing Class A drug, Being Present where Heroin is kept

58 yr. old male of Lowell – Possessing Class A drug, Being Present where Heroin is kept

28 yr. old male of Lowell – Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended drivers license, no inspection sticker

31 yr. old female of Lowell – Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended drivers license, Distracted driving

24 yr. old male of Greenville, NH – Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended drivers license

35 yr. old female of Tyngsborough – Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended drivers license, no inspection sticker

25 yr. old male of Lowell – Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, uninsured motor vehicle

Police Department takes part in children’s storytime at the Library

We would like to thank the Tyngsborough Library and it’s Director Susanna Arthur for all they do for our community and for inviting us to take part Monday night for this great annual event.  Also, a special thanks to Lori Furtado, head of youth services at the library, for putting these children’s reading events together.  Also, thank you to retired librarian Connie Spickler, who retired in 2013, and started the summer reading time tradition over 20 years ago!

As a result of a tree coming down on a power line National Grid is reporting power outages in the following areas;

Pawtucket Blvd, Riverbend Rd., Parker Ln., Sherburne Ave., Frost Rd,. Cassaway Dr. – Estimated restoration time is 6:30 pm.
