Arrest of burglary suspect

On Wednesday February 17th at 10:08 pm Tyngsborough officers responded to an alarm call at Forrest Marine located on Middlesex Road.  Upon arrival officers observed a subject dressed in dark clothing inside the building.  The subject then fled deeper into the building upon seeing the officers, the officers then found a rear door to the business open.  Officer Rider with K-9 Jagr entered the building and began a search, the subject subsequently surrendered when hearing the k-9 coming toward him.  The subject was taken into custody without further incident.  An investigation revealed that the subject had forced the rear door of the business open with a brick, he had stolen cash from a register in his possession.

John Barbuti, 28 yrs. old of Hudson, NH was held at the Tyngsborough Police Department overnight and is being arraigned today at Lowell District Court.  He is charged with;

  • B&E nighttime for felony
  • Malicious destruction of property over $250 (2 counts)
  • Larceny from a building
