Bear sighting

A bear that has been seen frequently in the area was recorded on video surveillance from a residence in the area of Appaloosa Circle on Sunday night.  A reminder from our Animal Control officer that there are bears that live among us, Tyngsborough is heavily wooded and provides a suitable area for bears to live.  They are typically not aggressive toward humans; however people should obviously avoid them whenever possible.  Bears are looking for food at this time of year prior to going into hibernation; they are also attracted to bird feeders which many people have in their yards.  It is recommended that you remove bird feeders and ensure that there is no open trash or food waste in your yard.

Please call Tyngsborough Animal control at 978-649-6569 if you have any questions or concerns.
