On Friday, May 3rd a bomb threat was found written on a wall at the Greater Lowell Vocational technical high school. The threat indicated a bomb would go off at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 7th. An investigation into the threat was immediately launched by school officials, the Tyngsborough Police Department and Tyngsborough Fire Dept. There was no information leading officials to believe that the threat was real. All reasonable precautions were taken by the police department and school officials. On Tuesday at 1:30 PM the school was evacuated and was then searched by school Officials; the Tyngsboro Police Department, the State Police bomb squad and Tyngsborough fire department were also on scene during the evacuation. Nothing of a suspicious nature was found in the building and all students were returned to the building at 2:15 PM. An Investigation into the source of the threat will continue and the responsible party will face criminal prosecution when identified.
