Dunstable Road paving

Dunstable Road (Between Dunstable town line and Westford Road)

&

Cummings Road (from Dunstable Road to Dunstable town Line)

 

The Highway Department has initiated preparations for the paving of Dunstable Road (between Dunstable town line and Westford Road) and Cummings Road (from Dunstable Road to Dunstable town line) beginning on or about Monday, August 31, 2015.

The project may entail some of the following activities:

  • Trimming of trees within the Town right-of-way (if needed)
  • Removal of existing pavement
  • Minor roadway profile changes for drainage and safety improvements
  • Placement of binder course paving (bituminous asphalt)
  • Adjusting sewer and drainage structures, frames and water & gas grates to final grade
  • Placement of top course paving (bituminous asphalt)
  • Loam and seed shoulder area (lawn areas near edge of pavement)
  • Transition driveway aprons to new roadway surface (if needed)

Construction crews will commence work from 7:00 am to approximately 7:00 PM Monday thru Friday except holidays. This project will be completed in approximately two to three weeks, weather depending.

Generally,  Dunstable Road and Cummings Road will be open to one lane of traffic during road construction, although you may expect delays.   We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your patience and willingness to work with us in this endeavor.
