Firearms Licensing process; New guidelines for processing

Firearms licensing applicants,

The Firearms Licensing process will restart on June 8th  with new safety  guidelines in place.   The process will involve specific changes which enhance the safety of the public and our department personnel who will be assisting in the licensing process.   These guidelines will remain in place until further notice.

  • There will be two (2) four (4) hour blocks designated each week for the fingerprinting and photographing portion of the firearm licensing process.   All blocks of time are from 3-7 pm.
  • You will receive a call from our department providing you choices from the schedule below.   We ask that when you arrive at the police department for your appointment to please call the dispatch desk @ 978-649-7504, but remain in your vehicle.
  • When our personnel are ready they will call you and you will be asked to enter the Police Department through the garage door on the South side of the building.
  • All people coming into the building are required to wear a facemask, unless a legal exemption exists.   Due to the fingerprinting and photographing process requiring close contact, and the inability to maintain social spacing, all personnel from the Police Department who are processing firearm license applicants will be wearing a facemask as well.
