Motor vehicle accident, 5 injured

On Friday July 25, 2014 at approximately 3:29pm, the Tyngsborough Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Middlesex rd. at the Tyngsborough Bridge.  Upon arrival, officers noticed a 2 car motor vehicle crash involving 5 occupants.  There was substantial damage to both vehicles.  One of the occupants was trapped inside the vehicle.  The Tyngsborough Fire Department was able to extract the entrapped occupant from the vehicle.  Four of the injured were transported to Lowell General Hospital by ambulance.  One occupant was airlifted by Med Flight to Boston Medical Center with life threatening injuries.  This accident remains under investigation at this time.  One of the vehicles involved was a 1995 white Honda Civic that was reported to be traveling erratically on Middlesex Rd. north bound just prior to the accident.
