On March 13th at 9:20 pm the Tyngsborough Police Department received a call from security staff at the Greater Lowell Regional Technical High School stating that a suspicious device, which had the appearance of an explosive, was found in the school. Officers responded and cleared the building, securing a perimeter and ensuring nobody could re-enter the building. Tyngsborough Fire and medical personnel also stood by while officers from the Massachusetts State Police Hazardous went into the building and inspected the device which they determined was not in fact an explosive. The building was subsequently searched by Tyngsborough Police Officers, Tyngsborough Fire, bomb sniffing k-9’s and staff from the Voke school, no further suspicious items were found.
An investigation, in conjunction with staff from the Voke, is continuing to determine what the device is.
