Tyngsborough Severe Weather Update – as of Wednesday Oct 31 at 11:00 AM

During Halloween trick-or-treating on Wednesday, October 31st from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, residents are advised to exercise caution in the event they come across isolated storm damage that has not been removed from the public way.

Trash collection will occur on Thursday, November 1st per the regular schedule.  Recycling on “B” streets will occur per the regular schedule as well.

Leaf collection is scheduled to occur on Friday, November 16th and Friday, November 30th.  Residents may also dispose of woody debris less than 4 inches in diameter by placing it in barrels or leaf bags for collection at these times.

Remaining paving work on Chestnut and Groton Roads is scheduled to occur Thursday, November 1st through Saturday, November 3rd.

National Grid has restored power to the majority of Tyngsborough customers who experienced an outage.  National Grid reports an outage on Dunstable Road at the Chelmsford line affecting approximately 335 customers in Tyngsborough and Chelmsford.  The outage is attributed to an outage in Chelmsford.  There are isolated individual outages on the east and west side of town.  Efforts to restore power to those customers will continue.

Residents are asked to check the condition of electric service to their home.  If there is damage to the meter, meterhead, or wire from the street to your house, you are advised to contact an electrician to make repairs.  Electricians in need of a Town Wiring inspection may fax a completed permit with a copy of their license to 978-649-2320 or bring it to Town Hall.  Residents and electricians with questions may contact the Fire Department business line at 978-649-7671.  The Town will waive re-connection permit fees for damage associated with the storm.

If your power is out and you do not have damage to your meter, meterhead, or the wire from the street to your house, please contact Fire Station #1 at 978-649-7671.

The Board of Selectmen meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 1st has been postponed.
